FILMS // CONVERSATIONS // PERFORMANCES
Our aim is to transform storytelling by telling empowering and inspirational stories of people in the black, Asian and ethnic minority LGBT community through different mediums.
Tell stories of endeavour, of overcoming problems, developing creativity and expression that would not normally be heard to help develop a voice for a new 21st century LGBT community.
We want to promote ideas worth spreading, make people feel included, empowered and involved through the event being interactive with Q&A sessions. We want people to be inspired to become champions in their fields of media and expertise through visiting our event.
Promote understanding in society through visibility and representation of LGBT people, characters and stories in the media.
Fusion: Fighting for LGBT visibility
Our three wonderful hosts for Fusion are: (clockwise from top left in the banner picture) freelance sports journalist Jessica Creighton, Political Editor of PinkNews.co.uk Scott Roberts and Aashi Gahlot, editor-in-chief and founder of website shorlgbtq.com. Jessica, Marcus, Scott and Aashi will be introducing the films and interviewing the guests on our sofa from a range of trans media backgrounds such as; film, TV, radio, news, arts, performance. At our last event the Queer Media Festival in February we screened 22 short films and had nine in conversations and it was a sell out.
Join in and make Fusion happen
Inspired by TED talks our dream is to stream the event and link up live on the day with people from across the world so even if you can't make it to the event you can join in online. You can help us by telling all your friends to support us and lets get connected and celebrate #LGBT #Fusion #QPOC.
Support for Fusion
One thing I have learnt is that we all struggle- we all fail- we all succeed- these things are not as important as having the courage to stand up and try (again!). As long as we keep on trying, nothing is impossible. I feel that people are encouraged to give up more than they are to keep trying :) Our work at SHOR reflects the beauty and the strength of the human spirit. The victories, the defeat, the "inbetween".
We are all AMAZING!! - Aashi Gahlot, ShorLGBTQ.com
From the bottom of our hearts thank you so much for your interest in Fusion because one story at a time we are all changing the world.
