#TransMCR takes place on the 2nd Saturday of every month, at LGBT Foundation, 5 Richmond Street, Manchester M1 3HF.

CONFERENCE ROOM
11am-5pm Community Café
Drop into our cafe space, run by our Trans Advisory Panel, for free cake and refreshments.
12-1pm Befriending Space
Coming to #TransMCR by yourself or for the first time? Come and meet some of our Befrienders and make some new friends.
1-3pm Legal and healthcare advice & advocacy drop-in
Action for Trans Health and solicitors from Irwin Mitchell, will be available to offer healthcare and legal advice.
3-5pm Craft Corner: Badge making
Come and join us for some crafty activism, making custom badges that show you’re loud and proud.
MEETING ROOM
12-1pm Workshop: CV writing
Learn how to structure your CV, frame your skills and attributes and demonstrate the essential criteria included in job descriptions.
1-2:30pm Workshop: Creative writing
In this class we will look at how we can use description to make our writing vivid and interesting, and how writing about our senses can change the way our writing develops.
2:30-4pm Workshop: Life Drawing
Come along and try your hand at life drawing in a relaxed and friendly environment. All abilities welcome and materials will be supplied.
4-5pm Workshop: Movement and mental wellbeing
A guided free-movement class, encouraging relaxation through movement. We’ll be connecting mind with body and inspiring creative expression. Suitable for beginners.
BOARD ROOM
12-1pm Talk: Trans inclusion in sports
We believe that physical wellbeing should be accessible to everyone. We’ll be talking about how sports societies and facilities can be inclusive of the trans community.
1-2:30pm Filmmaking workshop
Join E.D.E.N Film Productions for an opportunity to learn skills including shooting, sound and editing. This session will give you the skills to start making your own films.
GROUP ROOM
12-1pm Talk: Modern family legal issues
You are invited to join local specialist family solicitors from Irwin Mitchell for a discussion on family legal issues faced by members of the trans community.
1-2pm Workshop: Never going underground
Have your say in the People’s History Museum landmark exhibition for 2017, Never Going Underground: the fight for LGBT+ rights. In this hour long session you’ll work with a team of Community Curators to talk about how LGBT voices will be represented throughout the exhibition.
2-3:30pm Workshop: Exploring online dating
This workshop is about having fun, sharing experiences and making the most out of online dating/hook-up apps and forums. The session will provide tips on using these platforms in a safe way and how to report abuse should you experience it.
3:30-5pm Trans people of colour social group
Are you a trans person of colour? Want to share your experiences? Want to meet new friends? Join us for a chat and a community social! Please note this space is for trans people of colour only.
WELLNESS CENTRE
Swap Shop
Bring any items of unwanted but functional clothing, shoes, accessories, wigs, binders etc (clean & in good condition) and add them to our swap shop rail and feel free take anything that better suits your needs. This is great way to try new clothes and styles.
Beauty Treatments
Come and have a chat about how to make the most of your make-up, and get tips on nails, brows and body hair in the process.
Holistic therapies
Fancy a massage to relieve stress and ease the mind? Come and book yourself a short session.
Hair services
Fancy having a trim or want to experiment with new styles? Come and visit our salon! There will opportunity for you to learn how to replicate techniques when styling your hair at home too.
Changing Space
We have a dedicated changing room which is private and safe for anyone to use. The space will be equipped with a range of toiletries and products and accessible for anyone who wishes to get ready in the building or changed throughout the day.
Quiet Space/Prayer Room
Throughout the day, we have a dedicated quiet space if you wish to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the event.
The room has prayer mats and multi-faith texts.
AFTER HOURS
5:30pm onwards - After Hours at Kiki
After the event we’ll be heading to Kiki for some drinks and nibbles so you can continue socialising with the people you’ve met at #TransMCR.
The venue has disabled access and is located at 4 Canal Street, Manchester, M1 3HE

- Unless otherwise specified, places for workshops, talks and the wellness services will be allocated on the day on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The building is wheelchair accessible via our lift and the event spans the full three floors of our building.
- This event is for over 16s
