Step into Girl World where we re-write the rule book and go forward together stronger... <3 North Shore's Spring Fling is transposed to Manchester for one night only, with a fully decorated venue and interactive elements from the film such as a Reclaim Your Shame Anti-Burn Book and Share The Love Candy Cane Post Box. Including workshops ranging from crafts and creative skill-sets to positivity and empowerment, The Ultimate Mean Girls Quiz, a mini market of female run businesses, pop up performance Personally Vicitimsed By Regina George, film introduction, our signature party bags and a female anthem danceathon, join Girl Gang Manchester for an unforgetable evening of celebration, skill sharing and silliness! <3 <3 The event was awarded Best Single Event at the national Cinema For All Awards after it's first outing in Sheffield, and now journeys to Manchester, completely re-made with a local team of female creatives. <3 Dig out your prom dresses, your tuxedos and whatever attire makes you feel lush enough for our gorgeous Spring Fling themed venue and get stuck into a vast array of treats... <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 LIMITED CAPACITY 45 MIN WORKSHOPS- Sign up on the day 7PM-7.45PM THST'S JUST LIKE, THE RULES OF FEMINISM: A poetry workshop inspired by the wise words of Gretchen Wieners with members of Stirred Poetry and Inna Voice. Through group discussion we will explore and critique the unwritten societal rules of modern womanhood by drawing up a list of such rules. We will then create our own feminist manifesto to counter these. Participants will be invited to write a poem based on one of the rules. The workshop will be facilitated by Jasmine Chatfield, Lenni Sanders and Keisha Thompson, and is open to all genders, though the focus will be on feminism and womanhood. OR.... TOO GAY TO FUNCTION: A workshop on intersectional feminism and inclusivity with Rainbow Noir Workskop focussng on themes of LBQ women's needs and visibility within feminism, acknowledging and encourage people to reflect and consider the impact of other intersections of race, class, disability and gender on LBQ living their lives. 7.50PM-8.35PM THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF EVIL PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD- PEOPLE WHO DO EVIL STUFF AND BEING WHO SEE EVIL STUFF BEING DONE AND DON'T TRY AND STOP IT: A workshop in assertiveness Are you guilty of being a mean girl? Do you know anyone who is cold shiny hard plastic? Would you write in the burn book or show it to the principal? Come and help us try and re-allign girl world by standing up for yourself and others in this 45 minute workshop. We will discuss what it means to be assertive and if standing your ground makes you a boss or a bitch. OR... MY NAIL BEDS SUCK: A workshop on body positivity. Are you eyebrows on fleek? Do you have really bad breath in the morning? Is your nose on upside down? Are you even bothered?! Meet rad babes in a 45 minute discussion (turned dance off) where we talk openly about the relevance of body image without fear of ridicule or rejection. Chapter 1 - Being Shady; 'I thought there was only fat and skinny, but apparently there are a lot of things that can be wrong with your body' Chapter 2 - 'I can’t come to Taco Bell, I’m on an all carb diet' Chapter 3 - 'Boo you whore,' I’m awesome the way I am DURATIONAL DROP IN WORKSHOPS 7PM-9PM A CAKE MADE OUT OF RAINBOWS AND SMILES: Cake and cookie decorating workshop. Have a lot of feelings? Us too! Help us eat them at our workshop, where there’s ample cake filled with rainbows and smiles that everyone can eat and be happy. For a small donation, craft your own empowerment rainbow cake or design your personal mantra on a totally fetch cookie. Whether you inhale the lot yourself or share the love, we cannot be held responsible if following this activity sweatpants are all that fit you… ART FREAKS- THE GREATEST PEOPLE YOU WILL EVER MEET: Art and craft workshops. The world can seem like a pretty mean cafeteria at times, we can feel excluded, self conscious or picked on but never fear! You can come sit at the art freaks table and create girl love cards using your favorite mean girls quotes and characters to send to friends/family. Draw positive self-portrait collages to celebrate your radness and help promote self-love. MODERATELY PRICED SOAPS ARE MY CALLING: Smelly and pamper product making session. Keep yourself smelling like a baby prostitute in this durational bath salt and sugar scrub making workshop. A small donation is requireed to cover ingredients for this workshop. MATHLETES: Quizzes and challenges. Enjoy sodouku puzzles and ven diagrams in the mathletes corner where we guarentee no-one will accuse you of commiting social suicide. MADE OUT WITH A HOT DOG?!
